Georgia Tech’s HyTech Racing team needs an engineer to perform an unofficial technical review

Georgia Tech’s HyTech Racing team needs an engineer to perform an unofficial technical review of their vehicle next week so that they can compete in this year’s national competition. If you’re able to help, or know someone who might be, please reach out to Elliot Moore at em80@mail.gatech.edu.

Here’s some additional background information:
Georgia Tech’s HyTech Racing team (http://hytechracing.gatech.edu/) is in the finals stages of development of an electric vehicle for the Formula Hybrid competition (http://www.formula-hybrid.org/) on April 27th-30th in Loudon, NH. The Formula Hybrid event is an annual event that is sponsored by IEEE and SAE. Part of the competition process requires that competing vehicles be reviewed by a qualified engineer who can provide feedback on their electrical safety. This is not an actual safety inspection – it’s just an opportunity for the team to get feedback about potential safety issues that would result in disqualification while there’s still time for them to do something about it. It’s not necessary that you become an expert in the competition rules; experienced Formula Hybrid Electrical Inspectors will be available via Skype during the inspection to provide guidance and help.

In order to qualify, an onsite interview to see the vehicle will need to be set up between April 5 – April 11, 2015. The expected time commitment is approximately three to four hours over the course of one or two days.

If you’d like more background, see the attached “Reviewer Solicitation” announcement. I’ve also attached a copy of the pre-event electrical review guide for volunteers.
