October 25 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

The Atlanta Chapter of the IEEE Power & Energy Society will be hosting a Fall Tutorial on Wednesday, October 15th at Georgia Power Company Office located at 62 Lake Mirror Road, Bldg.6, Forest Park, GA, 30297. The tutorial’s topic will be on “Designing and Specifying Medium Voltage Motors” and you can register here! We will have Brandon Kim from TMEIC.

Come and join us in order to gain a better understanding of Medium Voltage Motors.

Speaker(s): Brandon Kim,

Agenda:

The session will be limited to motors between 1kV – 13.8kV, 500HP – 130000HP, slow/super-synchronous speed motors. This tutorial is an information-packed half-day series of topics covering the following:-

 1)    MV motor basics and terminology.

2)    Induction and Synchronous Motors.

3)    Enclosures

4)    Options/Accessories

5)    Overview of large MV motor manufacturing process

6)    Most common mechanics of MV motor failures

7)    Specifying motors correctly
