Smart Beam-forming Antenna

October 25, 2017 @ 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Adaptive beam-forming antennas open a new venue for research to achieve higher data rates. Such antennas are of interest at higher frequencies in particular at millimetric-Waves. Millimetric-Waves frequency ranges from 30 GHz – 300 GHz and there is ample bandwidth available in this spectrum. Higher frequencies have significant scattering which causes higher path loss. Due to high path loss, there is need for better error correction schemes and adaptive beam-forming antennas. Aim of our research is to design adaptive beam-forming smart antenna that is capable of beam-steering while end user is mobile as well as stationary. Current research is focused on simulation and design of antenna that is capable of beam steering at 2.45 GHz. In designed antenna model beam is steered through RF switching.
