The Bayha Island Enhancement Research Project was completed to evaluate the feasibility of the IPC’s Snake River Stewardship Program. This Program is focused on improving water quality and improving overall stream health in the mainstem Snake River and its tributaries above the Hells Canyon Complex. Idaho Power is proposing the Snake River Stewardship Program to satisfy a portion of the water quality certification required to relicense the Hells Canyon Complex. Jeff and Nate will present background information about the Bayha Island project including the geology in the valley, Lake Idaho and the Bonneville flood, followed by a discussion on data collection, design criteria, permitting, gravel mining, construction and post construction monitoring.
