Topic:  Overview Electric Vehicles

This meeting will be a presentation about electric vehicles, advancements in battery technology, and the impact of ever increasing numbers of electrical vehicles on the power grid.

This will be a joint meeting with the Engineers Club of Des Moines and the Power and Energy Society.

An optional meal is available. It will be catered by HyVee and will feature Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Buttered Corn, Broccoli Supreme Salad, and Cherry Crisp for dessert. Wine, Cheese, and Crackers will be available before the meal. The cost of dinner will be $18 per person. If you would like to purchase the meal, you must register by noon on Wednesday, May 8th, and indicate that you want the meal in special remarks.

May 14th – You’re invited to attend the 22nd Annual ProCon Cedar Rapids Section Professional Development Conference.  This is a one-day, two-track event taking place on Tuesday, May 14th at the Cedar Rapids Marriott Hotel.  This year’s tracks are Cyber Security and Emotional Intelligence.  PDH credits are available.  Visit www.cr-ieee-procon.org for more information and to register!  See attached flyer.

May 16th – The Central Iowa Executive Committee (ExCom) will be meeting to begin planning the fall meeting schedule.  All interested members are encouraged to attend.  Watch for meeting announcement.
