Harmonics: IEEE 519 and More

September 20, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm CDT

$30 – $35

As Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) are applied into more applications due to their ability to conserve energy, a side effect is increased harmonics which are imposed onto the power system. IEEE 519 has been applied to define acceptable limits to harmonics and manufactures have provided solutions to mitigate harmonics to meet this guideline. This presentation will discuss the causes and effects of harmonics and how to best mitigate them.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Gerry Feldmeier has worked for Eaton for more than 20 years and is currently the regional sales manager for VFDs with Eaton. Mr. Feldmeier regularly will present to consulting engineers on drive and motor theory, harmonics and industrial communications as well as being a local resource for Eaton’s Application Engineers and regional sales force.
