Abstract:

The city of Frisco Texas is a leader in connected vehicle and traffic systems. It is the second city in the US (after Las Vegas) to enable its traffic signal network to be connected with consumer vehicles using V2I technology.  To deploy this technology, Frisco partnered with Audi of America, Trafficware and Traffic Technology Services to stream real-time system and intersection data.  The solution is available today on select 2017 and 2018 Audi vehicles and signals the start of the future of the autonomous transportation systems and vehicles.

  • How local agencies like Frisco will play an important role in the implementation of connected and autonomous vehicles
  • Discuss signal data sharing and its application
  • How this is being performed in Frisco and how it differs from other methods
  • Brief overview of other data sharing and transportation technology projects ongoing in Frisco
