There is an interest in forming a new Patent society for IEEE members in Dallas. The purpose of which would be to educate IEEE members as to patent issues and also to provide a discussion forum for patent-related issues of interest to IEEE members. Patents and patent law is important to IEEE members. The patent bar, patent office and patent judges could also benefit greatly from input and involvement of IEEE professionals in the development of patent-related policy.
