Activities

The IEEE EdSocSAC embarks into a new journey in 2013 with a plethora of new ideas, but our classical activities march on. Here find a brief overview of the same and the contact details for participating in the same.

Student Chapter Development

We actively help you establish new IEEE EdSoc Student Chapter under the aegis of a local IEEE Student Branch, we also counsel the existing Student Chapter. If you are planning to start a new chapter. or want support for a existing chapter – please contact the ExeCom member nearest to your geographical location and/or the Membership Development Team (isidorogomes@ieee.org). For promotional material and Social media related matters please contact Bea (Meriem.benabdallah87@gmail.com).

Student Paper Contests and Conference Certifications

The IEEE EdSocSAC helps you in organizing Student Paper Contests(SPC) and certifying the winners of SPC with a IEEE EdSoc Certification and plaque (on request and availability). The EdSocSAC engages from the initial review phase to the final award decision, based on location an SAC Execom member can also attend the conference and judge the presentations. The extended versions of the best papers in the SPC are published/ priority reviewed in IEEE ITEE or other journals/transactions of the EdSoc.

Further, IEEE EdSocSAC can technically co-sponsor Student Activities in your conference. You need to submit a detailed proposal for the same, which needs to be approved by the EdSocSAC Execom and concerned contact in the IEEE EdSoc.

Special Issues of IEEE ITEE

The IEEE ITEE is one of the primary engagements of the SAC ; The ITEE team often publishes special issues on current topics that warrants attention. The selected best papers from conferences supported by EdSoc are also published as special issues.

The request for proposals for a Special Issue of ITEE is always open; Please contact the EiC ITEE Chi-Hua Chen (chihua0826@gmail.com) for exploring the possibilities of publishing a special issue.

Distinguished Lecture Program (DLP)

The SAC compliments in organizing the DLP on behalf of the EdSoc and bringing the benefits to the student member community. If you are a Student volunteer or part of a EdSoc Student Chapter and would like to invite a distinguished speaker to your campus to speak on a topic relevant to IEEE EdSoc, you can seek the assistance of SAC in inviting the speaker and partially covering the cost of hosting the invitee. Please note, IEEE EdSoc provides only matching funds to cover partial expenses, your university or external sponsors must contribute partially to enable the EdSoc to extend support.

For assistance on DLP contact Deepak Malani (malani.deepak@gmail.com).

The sky is the limit and the SAC is open to any new idea – please write to us if you have one and want us to support you to realize your dreams 🙂
