As we enter a new year, the Eastern North Carolina Section of the IEEE would like to involve more members in leading the section forward in 2012. If you are interested in a leadership role in IEEE-ENCS and would like to share your ideas with others, we would like to invite you to attend an evening working dinner event at the Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC at 6 pm on Thursday, January 26.
At a section retreat held on November 12, we identified five focus areas to concentrate on during the coming year:
a. Communications (within the membership including web, email, social media, etc.)
b. Membership Engagement (includes university student activities, a new GOLD affinity group, possibly other non-traditional meetings or events to facilitate networking and fellowship.)
c. Technical & Professional Program Content (includes section, chapter meeting programs)
d. Membership Development (Includes member recruiting, retention, advancement, and recognition.)
e. Outreach to Others (includes K-12 programs, career fairs, cooperation with other groups, etc.)
This evening event will combine a working session on the above topics with a buffet dinner and an opportunity to socialize with other volunteers.
If you are interested in attending, advance registration is required.
Registration will be limited to 50 active IEEE ENCS members.
The section will incur expense for all who register, so if your plans change and you must cancel after registering, please notify Paul Goodson as soon as possible.
We look forward to your participation!
Remember to register through IEEE vTools!

Hello, world! Starting here in 2012, we’re going to try to rebuild the IEEE ENCS’s web presence with this new website. We’re still getting settled in, so if you have any suggestions, please share your thoughts with us.
If you are part of the IEEE ENCS or one of its Society or Affinity Groups and would like to make an announcement on the website, please contact the site webmaster directly.
The primary purpose of the site is to make all of the upcoming events available in a single spot, making it easy to keep up with where the section is at any given moment. We also provide an place for our technical societies and affinity groups to advertise themselves to the rest of the section. Let us know how we can make this web space useful for you!
