Women In Engineering – Are you Being Heard? : Communication in Today’s Workplace

Communication in the workplace is a primary focus of the Professional Writing program at NC State University. We focus on communication for engineering and technology, as well as communication in business and management and communication in research and science. The first part of our presentation will focus on communication for engineering including information that we have gathered through an extensive survey of the written and oral practices that professional engineers do on the job. The second part of our presentation will focus on trends in workplace communication with a focus on the impact that social media has had on professional internal and external communication.

IEEE PES/IAS Joint Chapter will host a meeting on Tuesday, May 15, 6pm – 8pm on North Carolina State University – Centennial Campus. The IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE) is going to be in Raleigh this September 15-20, and are still looking for exhibitors to present.
