Curt Maxey Biography
Curt Maxey is a Senior IEEE member working as a private consultant to provide measurement and control solutions to local industries. He retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) after thirty-four years working in instrumentation and solar energy. He frequently provides seminars on Practical Aspects of Solar Energy and has consulted on a number of solar projects.
Technical specializations include optics, electronics, instrumentation packaging, radiation detection, and Labview software development. He is an advocate of STEM activities, an energetic mentor, and a recipient of the Department of Energy Outstanding Mentor award.
Curt currently has twelve issued patents and his innovative efforts have been recognized through the ORNL Inventor of the Year award, three R&D100 awards, three Federal Laboratory Consortium awards of Excellence in Technology Transfer, and the ISA Arnold O. Beckman award.
