The Fort Worth Section of IEEE geographically covers the western side of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. We have over 1400 members in all categories including students at UTA, UNT, and TCU. We are in Region 5 of IEEE.
We sponsor section meetings with topics of general interest to most of the membership. We have chapters of IEEE technical societies that meet more frequently and concentrate their energy on narrower areas of interest, usually by discipline or technology. The IEEE has thirty-nine different societies and we have chapters of seven societies in our local area.
We also hold two single-day, signature events each year, Metrocon and a Teacher In-Service Program.
The Fort Worth section supports several other activities with various resources and volunteers. We provide mentors and judges for the annual Future City competition and judges for the Fort Worth Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
