IEEE Fort Worth

We hold two single-day, signature events each year, Metrocon and a Teacher In-Service Program.

  • Metrocon 2018 will break from recent tradition. This year it will be held at the Hurst Conference Center on November 7.   Planning is underway, and it is anticipated to be very similar in format to recent Metrocons. The conference will have thirty to thirty-five presentations in several tracks, a plenary speaker, a luncheon keynote address, exhibitors, a student poster contest, and a closing reception.
  • The Teacher In-Service Program (TISP) provides a forum for IEEE volunteers to demonstrate the application of engineering, science and mathematics concepts by sharing their real-world experiences with local pre-university educators. It is a one-day event offered in late summer when teachers are available and getting ready for the next school year.  Last year it was held on August 11 at UTA and teachers from several districts attended.
