Nice to be in the FDC arms

I have been with IEEE for close to 30 years and yet I should confess that when I was asked to Chair the FDC back in 2012 I didn’t know anything about this committee. However, thanks to a great and supportive staff, it was really easy to become part of it and the wonderful volunteers that I had the opportunity to work with made the experience most rewarding.

Last year when I stepped down I felt I was part of the family. Hence, it is with great pleasure that I take the opportunity I was offered to migrate my blog, my daily rambling in technology, to the FDC website.

It is a good match. FDC is looking at identifying, and trialling, new paths for IEEE to explore and lead and one of the starting point is to look around to see what’s happening. And there is so much to watch!

I am looking forward to look at the Future one step at a time along with you, and to receive your comments and ideas as we stroll into the Future.

I have been blogging for several years now and the old posts are available in iBook format (for free) on the Apple iBook store. Just google for my name to see them and download. They are more than the collection of past posts. When creating the iBook are revisited what I written few years before and added some commentary on what came to pass since the time I wrote about that topic, so you can see in several cases how an emergent technology morphs (or does not) into a product.
