Global Humanitarian Engineering Awards for 2014

The Global Humanitarian Engineering Awards have been developed to recognise the contribution that both organisations and individuals make to improving the lives of those less fortunate in the world. The awards are: Global Humanitarian Engineer of the Year and Global Humanitarian Engineering Project of the Year.

In 2013 the inaugural award winners, Dr. Ashifi Gogo and iDE Product Development, showcased the exceptional thinking that is taking place to improve the standard of living in poverty stricken parts of the world.

The GHEA have made a statement to the field of humanitarian engineering through honouring innovation and change that can make a difference. The 2013 Humanitarian Engineer of the Year accolade received by Dr. Ashifi Gogo for his Sproxil Mobile Produce Authentication system has seen the product used over 5 million times in the developing regions of Africa and Asia.

Are you, or do you know an engineer whose contributions to the field of humanitarian engineering deserve to be recognised? If you can answer yes to this question the team at GHEA urges you to head over to our website at: www.humanitarianengineering.org and fill out a nomination form. The 2014 nominations close 29-August. Awards will be presented at GHTC 2014.
