IEEE HOU Sec: Young Professionals Networking Event

IEEE HOU Sec Young Professionals

Last night Friday, July 14, 2017 the IEEE Houston Section incoming Chair Moriah Hargrove Anders and Co-Chair Frank Rodriguez hosted a great summer time event.

Who is IEEE Young Professionals? …Glad you asked. “The IEEE Young Professionals is an international community of innovative members and volunteers. Members of this community are interested in elevating their professional image, expanding their global network, connecting with peers locally and giving back to the community.”

So What is IEEE? …Another great question. “The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is a professional organization, which provides the latest technical knowledge for its members through conferences, journals, workshops, and continued education, for the advancement of technology for humanity. With more than 400,000 members in more than 160 countries, IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional society.

Who is the Houston Section? Now that even a better question. “The Houston Section has been in existence for more than 80 years serving the greater metro Houston Area. We serves more than 4,000 higher grade members and over 300 student members living and working throughout the greater Metro Houston area. The Houston Section is one of 26 sections in  Region 5 with 15 Society Chapters and Affinity Groups and 5 Student Branch Chapters. The Section provides planning and funding support to assure Chapters have vibrant programs to support members’ careers and meet the IEEE mission of Advancing Technology for Humanity.

See some pictures from last nights event. Be sure to contact Moriah Hargrove Anders or Frank Rodriguez to get more information about IEEE HOU Sec. Young Professionals.

Only a few can count themselves as one of the best as an IEEE trivia winners and can drink from the YP SHANAS Cup of Knowledge.
