On September 26, more than 35 attendees gathered in the Investor’s Pub at Saint Arnold Brewing Company for the most recent for a free happy hour sponsored by Fletcher Yoder Law Firm. This is the second corporately-sponsored happy hour hosted by IEEE Young Professionals in 2018. Fletcher Yoder is currently seeking fresh talent for their firm and wanted to meet our IEEE community as a way to teach engineers about intellectual property law.
Fletcher Yoder is a growing law firm specializing in intellectual property matters. Their clients are active in a wide array of fields, including electronic and semiconductor devices, consumer goods, computers, oilfield equipment, theme park rides, medical devices, and the like. Fletcher Yoder is currently interested in candidates with degrees in engineering or natural sciences that qualify the candidate to sit for the patent bar. Interested IEEE members can direct position inquiries to the IEEE HOU YP Chair, Moriah, at email@example.com.
This happy hour was done in coordination with the intellectual property-themed monthly meeting.
Patent Law Basics – Matt Osterhaus
By the end of his presentation, the audience had the chance to ask a variety of questions, eat a delicious dinner, and listen to Matt discuss a toy problem using sample hoverboard patents.
IEEE HOU YP Chair, Moriah Hargrove Anders, and IEEE HOU YP Vice-Chair, Rosario Diaz, would like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who attended their happy hour event. Everyone from FYIP had a great time and Moriah and Rosario hope that the IEEE members enjoyed themselves as well.
