Electrical Engineering Manager

Summary

Supervise electrical Engineering team members in related activities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.
Provide electrical and software engineering support for design, development, inspection, and test of goods and services produced.
Ensure adequate staffing for electrical/software engineering activities.
Provide leadership and electrical/software engineering support for product/service development.
Monitor and define technical training needs for electrical/software engineering staff.
Provide customer communication related to engineering activities.
Duties and responsibilities of Electrical and Senior Electrical Engineer.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec AS9100/ISO policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manger/supervisor.  

AS9100/ISO Specific Duties

Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
Cooperate with Auditors.
Report any deviations to appropriate area manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Operational oversight of electrical engineering, design, and support activities.
Carryout supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policy and applicable statutory regulations.  
Interviewing, hiring, and training of electrical/software engineering employees; planning, assigning and directing work assignments; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
Experience with electrical and software engineering preferred.
Experience with computer programs including: LabVIEW graphical software, Ladder Logic software; Spreadsheets; Project Management; Data Base; Presentation Graphics; and Word Processing preferred.
Degree in Electrical, Software or Systems Engineering preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must qualify for all other job descriptions calling for security clearance.

Physical Demands

The employee will be expected to meet the demands of frequent, lengthy air travel as well as the demands of the normal day-to-day operation which may demand long periods of standing, walking and sitting.

Work Environment

Employee will be exposed to the normal risks of travel, electrical power systems, occasional moving mechanical parts, high and/or precarious places, outside weather conditions, and politically hostile travel conditions
Extended work hours and travel may be required.

Electrical Engineer

Summary

Design and test electrical components, equipment, and systems.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.
Compile and analyze operational, test and research data to establish Acceptance Test Standard for newly designed or modified equipment.
Prepare or direct preparation of product and system layout, schematics and detail drawings.
Design electrical equipment using digital, analog and microprocessor based electronic components for military and commercial environments.
Schematic creation, wire run lists, and familiarity with various electronic and electrical components including mounting methods, heat sinking and location on printed circuit boards.
Coordinate and perform as necessary operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
Coordinate with Manufacturing when building prototypes.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.  

AS9100/ISO  Specific Duties

Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
Cooperate with Auditors.
Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university; or one to two years experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.

IEEE Membership is preferred.

Physical Demands

Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to work with electrical equipment.

Work Environment

Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.  
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Extended work hours may occasionally be required.

Support Electrical Engineer

Summary

Research electrical, electronic and mechanical design and obsolescence problems of existing company products and build-to-print jobs. Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical problems in the factory and in the field. Assist engineers in design and manufacturing drawings.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.
Sustain existing electrical and mechanical designs of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial and domestic purposes.
Install electrical and mechanical systems in the field.
Some redesign of products to replace obsolete components.  
Determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing redesigned products and build-to-print jobs.
Work with indented Bills Of Material (BOM) to introduce new products into manufacturing system.
Modify existing BOM(s) to reflect design updates as necessary.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.  

AS9100/ISO  Specific Duties

Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.

Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

Four year Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering Technology degree (BSEET) or mechanical (BSMEET) preferred; or two years experience with applicable Engineering Documentation; or a combination of education and experience.  
Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Computer Assisted Drawing (CAD) or Auto CAD Lite.  Experience and familiarity with MIL-SPECS and DOD-STD-100 a plus.
