On January 21, 2017 Region 5 and the Houston Section recognized one of its own with a Lifetime Achievement Award. For those who don’t know Ross Anderson his bio is below, but he has been a strong and constant leader and supporter of IEEE. “It was an opportunity for the close friends and fellow colleagues to say thank you for a job well done“, says IEEE HOU Sec Chair Kheng Swee Goh.
Proclamations were shared from Houston City Mayor Sylvester Turner and State of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, were just a few tokens of appreciation shared.

Ross Anderson (S/556, M/65, SM/6696, LSM/97-00) received his B.S.E.E. from Oklahoma University. He worked with Southwestern Bell Telephone in Oklahoma, New Jersey (Bell Labs), Missouri, Kansas and Texas holding various division level assignments in planning, transmission, customer services and equipment engineering. Ross is a Registered Professional Engineer and a member of Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Tau and Eta Kappa Nu honorary engineering societies. He serves on the EECS Advisory Board at OU. Ross is active in his community and a deacon in his church.
