The Huntsville Chapter of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Society invites you to attend a Technical Meeting on January 16, 2014 featuring a talk given by Ken Javor.  The program will begin at 5:30 pm with EMC Compliance sponsoring a free catered meal. Ken’s technical presentation will begin at approximately 6:20 pm after some short chapter status updates.

Synopsis:

This presentation deals with the following cases:

Problem #1 arose when an airframer was performing low-level swept cw illumination of an aircraft in order to determine proper BCI drives on critical cables, and measured an inordinately large current value, and imposed same on avionics vendor.

Problem #2 is an observation that the technique (SAE ARP 1972, DEF-STAN 5941, RTCA/DO-160D-G, MIL-STD-461 CS114) has changed over time, and perhaps not for the better: a look at the evolution of the methodology, and why the original was closer to reality.

The meal and presentations are open to anyone interested in EMC or Circuit Design: IEEE membership is not required to attend.

Seating is limited to the first 50 people registered. You must Register at https://meetings.vtools.ieee.org/meeting_view/list_meeting/22973  as soon as you can, but no later than 2:00 p.m. CST January 14, 2013. Note: If you are not an IEEE member or do not have your IEEE Membership Number please just leave that portion of the form blank. Also, we really only need your name and email address; unfortunately, IEEE’s Vtools does not allow one to remove unrequired fields.

I hope to see you there!
