IEEE Teacher In-Service Program

Teacher In-Service Program (TISP)
NASA supports promoting STEM outreach to strengthen the educational advancement of students and encourages their pursuit of future careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) also shares this mission, and seeks to support it by hosting the IEEE Teacher In-Service Program (TISP).
TISP is a professional development workshop aimed at helping K-12 teachers bring exciting hands-on engineering lessons into their classrooms. IEEE volunteers collaborate with K-12 schools in their local communities to deliver the hands-on program. The program’s goals are to empower engineers to collaborate with their local community; promote applied inquiry-based learning; enhance the level of technical literacy of pre-university educators; and encourage pre-university students to pursue technical careers, including engineering. Participants will gain valuable tools that can be used for in-class applications.
Participants can either take one session or both sessions because the course material is not the same. A non-refundable fee of $25 is collected at registration that will help cover materials for the activity. This program is limited to 20 participants per session. After the maximum attendees have been reached, a wait list will be maintained for cancellations and future sessions.
