We will be hosting a Senior Member Round-up and Elevation event!  Our Executive Committee is trying very hard to reach ALL of our members and meet the needs of each and every one of you.  Please come out and support this event.  Find out about membership elevation, the requirements and give us feedback on the things you want to see the Huntsville Section doing for Members.  Lunch will be provided.  All are welcome to attend.

If you are a Member, eligible for an upgrade, or if you are willing to be a reference for those requesting upgrades…. Please come and join us!  There will be computers available onsite to submit referrals.

If you do not know whether you should apply for the grade of Senior Member here are the requirements

IEEE Bylaw I-104.3 sets forth the criteria for elevation to Senior Member grade as follows:

• A candidate shall be an engineer, scientist, educator, technical executive or originator in IEEE-designated fields
• Candidates shall have been in professional practice for at least ten years
• Candidates shall have shown significant performance over a period of at least five of those years

In addition, candidates for Senior Member grade must supply three references from current IEEE members holding the grade of Fellow, Senior Member, or Honorary Member.

The only information you may need to collect is your resume and graduation dates. At the IEEE Day Senior Member Roundup we will have the Senior Members, Fellows, Senior Life, etc., on hand to act as your reference.

Can I attend if I am already a Senior Member?

You should definitely attend, because candidates for IEEE Senior Member Grade need references from current higher grade members to complete their application. Make sure you register here.

Do I have to stay the entire time?

No, we blocked off enough time to allow interested Members an opportunity to meet their references, but you can arrive and leave as time permits.

Do I need to bring anything?

I suggest a few copies of your resume, so that your references can refer back to it when they are writing.
