IEEE IA/IE/PELS Jt. Chapter Kerala and IEEE IAS SBC NSSCE organized the first edition of All Kerala Industry Applications Society Student Conclave 2019 (AKIASSC’19) from 8th to 10th February 2019. The event was held at NSS College of Engineering Palakkad, Kerala. The core aim of conducting AKIASSC is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. On December 22, 2018, in order to promote mutual understanding between members and enhance team awareness, we organized a quality development activity. We traveled to a trampoline main park in Beijing to train members’ positive attitudes and teamwork spirit through unique and thoughtful, challenging and fun outdoor activities, to cultivate good team spirit and positive attitude towards life. On the morning of December 13, the IEEE Fellows program introduction and nomination experience sharing event hosted by the IAS North China Electric Power University Student Branch was successfully held. We were honored to have Professor Wei-Jen Lee with us. As a member of the IEEE Fellow Committee, Professor Lee stood in the “referee” perspective, shared the IEEE Fellow selection process and gave advice and suggestions on how to improve the nomination. The event brings together professor Wei-Jen Lee, professor of electrical engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington, director of the center for energy systems research and Vice President of IEEE IAS, and Dr. Long Zhao, a Ph.D. student at the University of Texas at Arlington. On October 10-22, 2018, North China Electric Power University held the 2nd IEEE Conference on Energy Internet and Energy System Integration (IEEE EI2 2018). We participated in the conference volunteer activities. Through participation in volunteer activities, the influence and popularity of IAS North China Electric Power University Student Branch was enhanced. Members contributed themselves to volunteer work, enriched their life experiences, participated in meaningful work and activities, and further increased the cohesiveness of the association.
At the beginning of the new semester on September 25, 2018, we made preliminary plans for the work that needed to be carried out this semester, and formulated plans for the lecture activities and quality development activity to be organized, so as to strive to make the work of the association better in the new semester. On May 27, 2018, our chapter held a large-scale academic board game competition called “Inline”. The competition was very large, with more than 100 players participating in the competition. The staff involved all grades from undergraduate to doctoral.

On the afternoon of April 4, 2018, we invited Dr. Deng Erping from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering to share scientific research ideas and talk about scientific research experience with more than 20 students.
Dr. Deng Erping shared his thoughts and experiences from international exchanges, literature reading, work attitude, scientific research planning, and scientific research positioning, and explained the issues of choice, time planning, and essay writing. For students in the initial stage of scientific research, it is very helpful for them to take fewer detours on future research roads.
