The IEEE SB DAIICT in association with IEEE IAS DA-IICT Student Branch Chapter organized Summer School 2019 from 17th to 23rd June 2019 on the topic of Android development, with special focus on Blockchain. The event was organized in the LT-1, from 10 am to 5 pm and was attended by around 105 enthusiastic participants. The event was conducted by speakers from industries, Mr. Intkhab Ahmed for Android Development and Mr. Yash Sharma for Blockchain, who had a plethora of practical knowledge as well as experience on the topic.
IEEE IAS DAIICT Student Branch Chapter celebrated IAS day on 20th June 2019. Although the IAS Day is actually celebrated on 15th June every year to commemorate the establishment of the IEEE IAS DA-IICT Student Branch Chapter in 2012 by Ms. Megha Tak. We collaborated with the Summer School ’19 organized by the IEEE DAIICT Student Branch from 17th-23rd June and to take it up a notch, we decided to celebrate it during the Summer School days. IAS DA-IICT Day was celebrated at Lecture Theatre-1 of DAIICT, the celebration was commemorated by around 83 enthusiastic participants and IEEE DA-IICT Student Branch ExeComm members.
IEEE IAS DAIICT Student Branch Chapter organized a felicitation and appreciation meeting after the end semester exams were over as a final wrap-up meeting of Tachyon ’19 on 4th May 2019. The meeting was held at 5 p.m. in the CEP-203 room. The entire Organizing Committee along with the IEEE IAS DAIICT ExeComm was present in the meeting. IEEE IAS DAIICT Student Branch Chapter organized Tachyon ’19- All India Industry Applications Society Students Conclave a 3-day mega event which witnessed an extraordinary conglomeration of a majority of in-vogue topics of a faster, newer world like 5G, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning.
IAS Meetup, a great initiative which was an important part of Tachyon ’19 was organized on 31st March at 2.00 pm. This event was planned with the motive that students of the various IEEE Student Branches who were present at Tachyon ‘19 get a great platform to represent their IEEE Student Branch and the activities conducted by them throughout the year and what all they had planned in the coming year to Dr. Peter Magyar Sir and the other Student Branches present. This was also planned to keep in mind the possibilities of collaboration opportunities amongst the Student Branches as it would provide a solution to the increased need of workforce and resources so that the planned events can be conducted on a large scale. On 30th March 2019, a batch of around 80 students went on an Industrial Visit to Punsari Village as part of Tachyon ’19.
Punsari Village, known as the globally acclaimed first smartest village of India comes in Sabarkantha district in the state of Gujarat, India which is awarded the ‘Best village of Gujarat’ and ‘Best village of India’ in 2010 and 2014 respectively. In the span of ten years, it has transformed itself from a normal Indian village to a technologically advanced village.

The IEEE IAS Student Branch chapter of DA-IICT has always been encouraging the student community to participate in more research and Industrial Application activities. This year, from the ‘Scholarship Fund’, the student branch chapter is glad to announce scholarship award to a postgraduate researcher at DA-IICT, Ami Pandat who was able to publish her paper in WIECON 2018 conference. Sensors Council has been spearheading a unique project of capturing all the oral presentations delivered during SENSORS conference since 2012. IEEE IAS DA-IICT SBC student volunteers have been involved in the video production of all these recordings done on-site in the conference for the last two years, 2017 & 2018.
