Poster Designing : ‘Women in Engineering’

As part of the women’s day celebrations at UKF College of Engineering & Technology, Industry Applications Society SB chapter at UKFCET has organized a Poster Design competition at campus level on March 6th. Out of the 17 entries, the best five posters were shortlisted and Mr. Kailas Krishna of first-year Electrical Engineering bagged the First prize. The theme for the contest was ‘Women in Engineering’. National Science Day Quiz’19

National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928. For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. IAS SB chapter in association with the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has organized a Quiz competition for students at the campus level. Resume Workshop: “Know Yourself”


Smile please – A glimpse after the valedictory function

Industry Applications Society SB chapter at UKFCET has organized a Resume workshop-“Know Yourself” for final year students at the college campus. The seats were limited to 30 and the event held with an attendance of 34 students. The workshop was organized to make the upcoming placement drives fruitful. Students are given knowhow on preparing for an interview and a successful CV. The program was supported by the Department of Electrical Engineering and felicitated by Mrs. Praveena Krishna L, Head of Department. Membership drive

Industry Applications Society SB chapter at UKFCET has organized a membership drive on 30th January 2019 in purpose to increase the student member count in the SBC. Apart from 7 members from the beginning, 14 new members joined SBC in this regard. Also, 8 more students have shown interest, who will be taken in August 2019 in the next intake. Disaster Relief Activities  

Our state Kerala has gone through the most disastrous days in history because of the heavy rain and flood which affect nearly 8 of 14 districts in Kerala during the month August 2018. At Relief camps, the selfless service offered by our students includes assembling and supply of LED bulbs and Power banks; clothes, food, medicine and napkins; leaflets on precaution to be taken while returning home from camp; and salvation activities at most flood-affected areas at Alleppey, Kollam & Trivandrum Districts in Kerala. Poster Design Contest   

In respect and loving memory of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Missile man of India, Indian politician and aerospace scientist who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007, IEEE SB along with IAS SBC conducted a Poster Design Competition for students of UKFCET at campus level on 15th October 2018. A total of 45 entries received, of which the best is selected by the judging panel and awarded certificate and prize. Continue reading Poster Design Contest   

Cleanup drive after flood   

Aranmula, located on the banks of the holy river Pampa is famous for the tourist attraction ‘Vallam Kali’, (Snakeboat race) conducting annually. Aranmula is a global heritage site enlisted by the United Nations. Due to the unusually heavy rain and flood faced by our state Kerala in the month of August 2018, Aranmula panchayat was severely affected and isolated. Continue reading Cleanup drive after flood   

Two-Day Workshop on Making LED Bulb

A two-day workshop on making of 9W LED blub was conducted by IEEE IAS Student Branch Chapter, IEDC UKFCET and Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, UKFCET as part of the inauguration ceremony of IMC(Incubation & Maintenance Center) at College Campus on 24th and 25th July 2018. IMC is meant for students as a platform to experiment their ideas to a useful product.
