Jack Glover, USA
Dr Jack Glover is a physicist and contractor in the Security Technologies group of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and has been based at NIST’s Gaithersburg campus since 2009. He received his PhD in physics from the University of Melbourne in 2014.
Jack’s research focusses on security imaging technology for concealed explosive detection and other security-relevant tasks undertaken by the military, law enforcement and in aviation security. This includes transmission, backscatter and computed-tomographic x-ray systems as well as millimeter wave imaging systems.
Jack has been involved in the development of numerous security imaging standards related to image quality and radiation safety. Jack is the current co-chair of ASTM Subcommittee F12.60 on Controlled Access Security, Search, and Screening Equipment and ANSI/HPS N43.17, a radiation safety standard for people screening. He has also co-chaired or had heavy involvement with numerous other standards including ASTM F792, IEEE/ANSI N42.55 and IEEE/ANSI N42.59
