SCC18 is the committee is responsible for reviewing and coordinating the instructions of the IEEE technical committees to establish the IEEE position of IEEE representatives to National Fire Protection Association Standards Committees and coordinating between IEEE Societies and Technical Committees to establish the IEEE position on all matters regarding toxicity and fire hazard assessment and to represent the IEEE on these matters with the National Fire Protection Association.

SCC18 meets in person two times yearly to establish IEEE positions on the 2020 National Electrical Code First Revisions ballot.   The next meeting will take place March 12-13, 2018 from 8 am to 5 pm Eastern time.  The meetings will take place at:

The draft meeting agenda will be posted on the SCC18 website by February 26, 2018. Updates on any requested presentations will be posted as received.   Standards Michigan will be coordinating its advocacy work with the IEEE Education & Healthcare Facilities Committee which meets 4 times monthly in the Americas and Europe.
