IEEE GEM will be located at:

Alice Perry Engineering Building,
National University of Ireland Galway,
University Road,
Galway, Ireland
H91 TK33

Budget accommodation is available in the student village adjacent to the conference venue. Single & double rooms are available and this can be booked when registering for the conference.

Accommodation

Please note that Galway is very busy during summer so early accommodation booking is advisable. Also, the preferential rates negotiated with the hotels will expire on the 15th of June.

The Corrib student village is the closest accommodation to the conference venue and you can book rooms when registering for the conference. Note that booking in this way will allow us to locate you in a building with other conference delegates.

The g-Hotel provides 5-star luxury in a unique boutique atmosphere; we have a great rate for single & double rooms which is better than many down-town hotels. This hotel is located beside a cinema complex and mini-shopping mall. It is about 30 minute walk to the conference venue, but we recommend a taxi ride as the route has heavy traffic at most times.

The Nox Hotel is a recently refurbished hotel, about a 20-minute walk from the conference venue and a 12 minute walk from Eyre Square. If you wanted to avoid traffic there is a back-road which is a 25-minute walk. This is a good location close to the venue and also within walking distance of town.

The Westwood House Hotel is a 4-star hotel and is closest to the conference venue being a 15 minute walk. It is only a 5-minute walk from the Corrib student village. We have a very good rate but note that there is a limited block of rooms so early booking is advisable.

Flights

Flights to Ireland in August

Getting There:

Delegates are recommended to fly into Dublin Airport (DUB) where there are coach services every 30 minutes to the centre of Galway. These are comfortable modern coaches with onboard WiFi and the coach station is a 2-5 minute walk from most hotels. There is a wide selection of direct flights from US, UK, Canada, and most European cities.
Alternatively, it is possible to fly into Shannon Airport but transport to Galway is less frequent so this is only advised if you plan to hire a car to explore the Wild Atlantic Way (https://www.wildatlanticway.com/ ). There are direct flights from US, UK, Canada and Europe although the choice is more limited.
