The IEEE-USA 2013 Annual Meeting was held August 1-4, 2013 in Portland, Oregon; sponsored by IEEE-USA and the IEEE Oregon Section with assistance from Region 6.The Annual Meeting provided an unparalleled training opportunity for IEEE’s U.S. volunteers and members. Thursday and Friday’s program featured the inaugural IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability with both academic and application-oriented presentations. Friday afternoon through Sunday morning the program provided sessions on basic volunteer training, interactive workshops honing leadership skills, exhibits on the latest IEEE products and services, opportunities for networking and exchange of best practices, and the IEEE-USA awards ceremony recognizing the best of our U.S. engineers. High temperatures in August are typically in the comfortable 80’sF with lows in the mid 50’sF.
