5G wireless communication technology is an essential component for the smart city infrastructure. Meanwhile, security and privacy have become significant issues in the design, development, deployment and adoption of smart city infrastructure and applications. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners in the area of 5G communication and security & privacy in smart city applications, to share their recent research results, innovative projects, new challenges, and practical experiences. We solicit submissions of high quality, original contributions on all topics related to 5G communications, security and privacy in smart cities. We also welcome short papers including visionary/pilot papers, preliminary studies, work-in-progress reports, industry featured projects, open problems and new challenges. Topics of interest in the three tracks include, but are not limited to:

5G Communication for Smart Cities

  • Ultra-low latency and reliable communications (URLLC)
  • Massive machine type communications (MTC)
  • Multiple-access strategies for massive connected devices
  • Energy-efficient Internet of Things (IoT) communications
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) enabled IoT communications
  • Cell vehicle-to-X (CV2X) communications

Security and Privacy in Smart Cities

  • Cybersecurity for smart city infrastructure
  • Security and privacy in smart grids
  • Regulations, policies and compliance
  • Data security and privacy in smart cities
  • Network and communication security and privacy in smart cities
  • Secure design and analysis for smart cities
  • Cyber-attacks and security challenges in smart cities
  • Blockchain for smart city security and privacy
