Tutorial  Sessions
(Registration starts at 7:30 am)

The tutorial day will include 4 sessions on various smart grid topics.  The first session will be on the basics of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) for those interested in understanding issues related to variable generation, limits to DER implementation, interconnect standards etc.  The second tutorial session will deal with Smart Grid Operations, i.e., characteristics, requirements, benefits, concerns and impacts.  The third session will introduce SGIP 2.0 (Smart Grid Interoperability Panel 2.0) framework that was initiated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to facilitate the accelerated development and adoption of the smart grid.  The last session will present Microgrids and their role in the evolution of the Smart Grid.
