Anche quest'anno WIE Affinity group Italy Section organizza IRIS. Scopo dell’evento è offrire alle scuole uno spazio di respiro nazionale in cui mostrare le iniziative messe in atto per promuovere lo studio delle materie STEM svolte durante l’anno scolastico, sia nei programmi curriculari sia in quelli extracurriculari, evidenziando le attività capaci di superare gli stereotipi legati al “genere”, particolarmente presenti nell’ambito di materie di studio di natura tecnico-scientifica. L'evento si terrà online mercoledì 15 marzo p.v. in orario scolastico, ed è rivolto agli istituti comprensivi e alle scuole di primo e secondo grado, con l'intenzione di offrire una possibilità di condivisione di "buone pratiche" nel promuovere la diffusione delle materie STEM senza condizionamenti di genere. La partecipazione è gratuita, come per le scorse edizioni. È necessario manifestare l'interesse alla partecipazione mediante la registrazione ad un form, ed il materiale digitale che verrà presentato dovrà essere inviato alle organizzatrici in anticipo. Venerdì 27 dalle 9:00 alle 10:40 si terrà una panel session WIE nella conferenza 2023 IEEE International Conference on Metrology for eXtender Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Neural Engineering. Il titolo dell'evento è "AI: across innovations and ethics", organizzato da Luca Mari, fisico misurista esperto di AI (Università Liuc a Castellanza), Viola Schiaffonati, docente di Etica (Politecnico di Milano), e Veronica Scotti, avvocato e professore a contratto (Politecnico di Milano). Interverrà la prof.ssa Lucilla Gatt responsabile del Research Centre of European Private Law - ReCEPL (Università degli Studi Suor Orsola Benincasa). La chair del nostro AG, prof.ssa Patrizia Lamberti, farà i saluti iniziali. Abstract dell'evento: Chatbots are the first non-human entities with which we can have meaningful interactions in our everyday language. Their widespread accessibility is then a cognitive change that is driving us to a cultural revolution, triggered by the main feature that characterizes Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) systems: in contrast to most other software systems, they are trained, thus granting them some sort of autonomy, in devising problem-solving strategies and even setting their own objectives. This challenges our traditional views of artificial entities: are they still only, very complex, objects, or are they transitioning into subjects? It is an unexpected and profound transformation, that prompts important discussions about its societal implications, including the ethical and legal analyses related to the need to reconsider the liability framework to regulate these new entities.
