CBU

3rd Place: CBU

The IEEE Student Branch at CBU had another great S-PAC in November of 2014. Our S-PAC’s themes this year were “How to Define Yourself” (Maria Lensing of AT&T) and “Innovation of Technology” (Dr. Ben Amaba of IBM). CBU also continued our new tradition of having Amy Ware of CBU start off with icebreakers and having local professionals participate in a panel discussion at the end of the S-PAC.

The students were happy this year to have Fisher Arnold, MLGW, AT&T, CBU Student Government & CBU School of Engineering, Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers, The University of Memphis Herff College of Engineering, and Midsouth Utility Consultants as sponsors.

They also had 2 S-PAVe events in addition to our S-PAC. The first S-PAVe event was a resume and LinkedIn workshop presented by Mike Zurkammer of CT Groups. In this workshop Mr. Zurkammer taught the students the importance of resume building and keeping a well updated LinkedIn profile. The second S-PAVe event was an interviewing workshop presented by Mike Zurkammer of CT Groups. In this workshop Mr. Zurkammer presented a short presentation on proper interviewing skills. The workshop ended with the students and Mr. Zurkammer asking different interviewing questions to each other and providing live feedback on the responses.

The IEEE Student Branch at CBU has been involved hosting an annual S-PAC since 2007 and they are looking forward to hosting the event this year!
