The IEEE Blockchain Initiative

The IEEE Blockchain Initiative started in January 2018. It is the hub for all IEEE blockchain projects and activities. The local IEEE blockchain groups are informal groups with support from the local parent section. The groups serve as a forum for professional networking, learning, and growth for IEEE members in the rapidly emerging blockchain field. https://blockchain.ieee.org/

The IEEE Memphis Blockchain Group will organize technical meetings and events covering start-of-the-art blockchain technology and applications. It will invite speakers from academia and industries as it builds a speaker list in Memphis. It will connect with other organizations that are actively working in the blockchain space.

Blockchain is over the hype cycle. As pilots reach maturity and consortia are in full swing, the need for trusted standards is greater than ever to advance the adoption of blockchain technology. The IEEE Memphis blockchain group will bring awareness to the tremendous opportunities offered within IEEE to be part of building the future of this technology.
