About Bologna

How to reach the School of Engineering

From Guglielmo Marconi Airport

The airport is located about 6 km from Bologna city centre. Bologna has direct flights to and from NY(USA), Barcellona(E), Bruxelles(B), Frankfurt(D), Lisbon(P), London(GB), Milan(I), Munich(D), Nice(F), Paris(F), Rome(I), Vienna(A) and others.

When you exit the airport, take the bus “Aerobus – BLQ”. The bus stop is on the right side as you get out from the airport exit door and there is direct scheduled service every 11 minutes. Ticket can be made on-board (one way ticket from/to Airport costs 6 €). The BLQ bus provides a quick connection to the railway station or the city center. To reach the School of Engeneering, get off at the bus stop called “Stazione centrale”, catch the bus number 33 and get off at “Porta Saragozza-Liceo Righi”.

From the railway station

For train schedules and connections to Bologna Centrale (central station), please see Trenitalia or Italo. Approximate train travel times to/from Bologna: Rome: 4 hours; Milan: 2 hours; Venice: 2 hours; Florence: 1 hour. At the railway station, take the bus number 33, just outside the train station, and get off at the bus stop called “Porta Saragozza-Liceo Righi” wich it is near the faculty of Engineering.

By bus from the railway station

When you exit the station, you have the bus stop in front of you, take the bus number 33. The trip takes about 10 minutes. You can buy tickets on board (1,5 €) or you can also purchase them both at “tobacco shops” that display the big “T” shield outside, and at newsagents (1,3 €). With the same ticket you can take every bus in Bologna (except Aerobus-BLQ) for 75 minutes, multi-ride tickets “city-pass” can be obtained at discount prices.

The bus number 33 goes on with the “Viali”: you have to get off at the “Porta Saragozza-Liceo Righi” bus stop. Once you arrive at the bus stop, go on with Via Saragozza.
