Report on the IEEE PES Africa Conference in Zambia by Delegates of IEEE Nigeria Section
The PES Conference was very successful and the delegates got to meet many people from other African countries, Europe and US. The Immediate Past Section Chair, Engr. Prof. Gloria Chukwudebe made a panel presentation on Skills Development through Partnerships – a critical path to the electrification of Africa. The delegates had the opportunity of networking with people from various parts of the world.
Besides attending the educative tutorials on smart grid and renewable energy systems, they participated at the special session on Women in Power, where they interacted with young girls from pre-university and encouraged them to go into Science and engineering.
The delegates also met with the Smart Village ambassadors and volunteers who attended the Conference.
