A booth was setup to showcase the institute and various projects the section is currently undergoing in capacity building, action for industry, SIGHT and upcoming conferences. The IEEE booth recorded more than 100 visitors among which are the Nigeria minister communication technology Bar. Adebayo Shittu, Senator Ben Bruce representing Bayelsa East of Nigeria, several director generals of agencies in Nigeria to mention but a few. New members were recruited and renewal activities were conducted for existing members.

The 3 days conference focused on the great achievements in Science and Technology in Africa as well as charts a course for the future. Africa has the world’s oldest record of human technological achievement, unfortunately, only a few are aware of these accomplishments, as the history of Africa, beyond ancient Egypt, is seldom publicized.
