Cameron Schuler is the Executive Director of the Alberta Innovates Centre for Machine Learning (AICML). His multifaceted career has touched on all aspects of business from start-ups to mature companies with roles having included COO, CFO, President & CEO and was an executive of a food manufacturer whose products lead to sales of 200+ million units throughout North America. He attained an MBA from Queen’s University, is a Certified Investment Manager and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.
Patrick Pilarski is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta. He received his BSc and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests include real-time machine learning, artificial intelligence, human-machine interfaces, robotics, and biomedical pattern analysis. Patrick is the author of many peer-reviewed articles, and is co-inventor of two international patent filings involving machine intelligence and pattern analysis for lab-on-a-chip medical devices.
