The WASH DC/NOVA APS, EMBS  and NOVA COMSOC Chapters, Executive Committees has the following officer position opening for 2018 and extends an invitation for members to run for the Chapter Secretary position.

The meeting commences at 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Arlington Central Library on the first floor in the meeting room.

Secretary Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend Chapter and Section Meetings
• Maintain Chapter records
• Support and maintain the Chapter webpage
• Poll Member interest (e.g. generate online surveys)
• Disseminate announcements (publicize events e.g. create flyers)
• Support the authoring and submission of articles on chapter events for newsletters

The chapter secretary will create announcements, publicize in various forum (e.g. electronic calendar), author meeting minutes, and support the drafting of article on events for publishing in the section and society newsletters.  Maintain chapter records by recording events utilizing IEEE electronic system.  Survey members interest in developing future chapter activities.

This is an excellent opportunity to serve on the WASH DC/NOVA EMBS Chapter Executive Committee and learn best practices in maintaining an active chapter.
