IEEE 5G SUMMIT

The Washington DC metro area COMSOC Chapters along with the Northern Virginia Signal Processing Society cordially invites you to attend their second Fifth Generation (5G) mobile network summit.  This year it will be at the College Park Airport Building in College Park MD, on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.  This one-day summit will provide a platform for the industry leaders, innovators, and researchers from the industry and academic community to collaborate and exchange ideas in the emerging 5G technology that may help in driving the standards and rapid deployment.

5G is a rapidly evolving and important technology.  This summit will give the attendee the opportunity to learn about the architecture and promise of 5G wireless networks.  No prior familiarity with the technology is required and the intent is to give the attendees a solid foundation in the technology, the current issues and the key user benefits.

11:15 AM- Transport: Reza Vaez-Ghaemi – Viavi Solutions- Overview of transport network related to 5G. Emerging backhaul networks and SLA’s (will cover standards such as eCPRI, xran, IEEE 802.1cm, IEEE 1914.1/1914.3, and G.826x/G.827x)

12:30 PM – Lunch

1:00 PM – Core Network: TBD – Network Architecture, Core

2:00 PM Applications: Narendra Mangra (Smart Cities)
