2017 Engineers Week Banquet Announced!

2017 Engineers Week will be celebrated Feb 19-25, 2017. The weeks’ activities include a banquet on Thu 2/23/16 at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. Our keynote speaker will be Jessica Foley, PhD (Bio) and Dr. Neil Kassell of the Focused Ultrasound Foundation. Their work with Ultrasound allows surgery to be performed without incisions. Join us for this very informative evening.

Our IEEE Section Members have been selected to receive all three of the annual awards presented by this organization, so this is a big event, a momentous occasion for us!  (More later)

We are considering the offer of substantially discounted tickets for IEEE members, and their spouse or a non-IEEE guest.  If we can arrange this, registration and payment will have to come through our website, rather than through the RJEC website, so please stay tuned and plan to meet your fellow IEEE members, discuss what IEEE can do for you and what you can do to help your local Section realize its potential and celebrate the good fortune of our award-winning members.  This is an achievement to be celebrated by all!  

We would especially like our Fredericksburg area members to consider attending this event.  It will be a great opportunity to meet other member and to discuss how the Section can better serve your needs and interests.  

We have formed two, new Chapters this past year (Magnetics/EMB Joint Chapter & Computer Chapter) and we are interested in forming additional Chapters in Communications, Signal Processing, Industry Applications, Aerospace and Electronic Systems, Electron Devices, Robotics and Automation, and Microwave Theory and Techniques!  This is a tall order, but it is not outside our reach!  Only YOU can make it happen!  Get involved, get active and get results!  You’ll be surprised how easy it is to get these local organizations up and running and how little effort is really required to completely change the character and value of YOUR organization!
