Project Management Lessons from Developing the Lunar Lander

November 7, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - November 12, 2018 @ 8:00 pm

Co-sponsored by: TEMS of Northern Virginia and Washington DC

Project management is a critical skill for engineers since most of what we work on will be projects. While scheduling, specifications and estimating are important project management tools, it is equally important to create a strong project culture. In this program we will discuss key aspects of project management and watch a video about the challenges of developing the Lunar Module used to land on men on the moon. Afterwards we will discuss some of the numerous project culture lessons shown. This video illustrates some of the rewards and frustrations of working on a complex project along with techniques for dealing with them. Attendees will come away with a deeper understanding of how to make their next project more engaging and successful.
