We are thrilled to have Sayan serving as Ozark Section Treasurer for 2019!

Sayan Seal is currently employed at Wolfspeed, Fayetteville, AR as an Electronics Design Engineer where he is involved with developing next generation SiC power modules. Sayan received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas in 2017, where he worked on novel integration methods for SiC power devices. The focus of his dissertation was wire bondless integration of SiC power devices to unleash their full potential. Novel wire-bondless chip-scale discrete MOSFETs were developed and demonstrated as part of this research.

Sayan also holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, and this research was focused on developing nanoscale reflectors for the NSF GREEN Center for Plasmonic Solar Cells. He received his Bachelors degree in Physics (2008) and Radio Physics and Electronics (2011), both from the University of Calcutta, India.

Currently, he serves as the co-chair of the Alumni Association of the Center for Power Optimization of Electro-Thermal Systems (POETS), an NSF Engineering Research Center (ERC).
