Cathodic Protection & Solid State Isolators – 9:20am
Mr. Mike Tachick, president of Dairyland Industries, is presenting the an overview on how to implement solid state isolators to decouple cathodic protected equipment with a ground grid. Mike Tachick graduated from Michigan Technological University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, having previously joined Dairyland Electrical Industries, a manufacturer of solid-state protection products, in 1984.

 

Board Update and Ethics – 10:40am
Mr. Clark will be speaking on behalf of the Texas Board of Professional Engineering. Mr. Clark is Director of the Compliance & Enforcement Division for the board where he manages the day-to-day operations of the division to include policy advisory opinions, compliance reviews of continuing education audits, seal imprint approvals, investigations of enforcement cases against violators, and providing outreach programs to educate the public and licensed engineers on engineering matters pertaining to the Board and the Engineering Practice Act.

               

Time Management for Dummies– 1:00pm

Mr. Eric West is a Firm Principal and team leader for site development and planning in PSC’s Public Works Sector. With a passion for the profession, he has served in leadership roles including president of the local chapter for the American Society of Civil Engineers and Texas Society of Professional Engineers, as well as state and national roles for the National Society of Professional Engineers and Professional Engineers in Private Practice. For his dedication and professional conduct Eric has been recognized as the Young Engineer of the Year on a chapter, state and national level by TSPE and NSPE.

 

Structural Forensics– 2:20pm

Our own Arlen Work will share some of his past engineering investigations including; original causes and ultimate failures of a collapsed steel grain silo, a heat damaged concrete building, and malfunctions in an F-16 (fighter jet).  Arlen earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering Mechanics.  He currently works in composite analysis at Bell Helicopter and has previously worked in civil structures, land development, ballistic panels, circus rides, and testing (strain gauge, NDI, destructive). Arlen also serves on Canyon City Board of Adjustments.

 

What’s New in Tech. – 3:40pm

We will welcome back Mr. Eric Spellmann to enlighten us on what is new and best in the world of Technology. Eric Spellmann is the Owner and President of Spellmann & Associates, a technology company offering online marketing, social media management, and website design.

 

¨       The Seminar is open to everyone! – Please invite others who might be interested

¨       There will be 1 hour of ethics education

¨       Seminar will begin at 9:15am with Late Registration Opening at 8:45am

¨       Lunch will be served beginning at 11:50 am and is included in the fee for the Seminar.

¨       Dress for this Seminar is casual and will begin at 9:15am.

¨       Amarillo College will issue CEU certificates for 0.7 unit ( 7PDH) to attendees who are present for the ENTIRE Seminar.
