End-to-End Network Automation is radically changing the way networks are designed, deployed, operated and managed, enabling service providers reach their “zero-touch” network ambition goal. The increased maturity in SDN and NFV technologies and adoption of DevOps principles in software lifecycle management along with the following trends are contributing towards an open End-to-End Network Automation framework:

  • Network Disaggregation
  • Network Softwarization
  • Intent-Based Networking
  • Network Slicing
  • Open Source Adoption
  • Multi-Domain Orchestration
  • Multi-Layer Resource Optimization

Finally, the recent emergence of Artificial Intelligence will also help operators improve network efficiency, lower operating costs and improve both the quality of service and customer experience.

Underpinning these trends and advances, IEEE Workshop on Network Automation is bringing together leading experts from telecom service provider, cable network operator, mobile network operator, software service provider, open source network automation projects as well as leading researchers from academia to discuss latest technical innovations, open source projects, opportunities and challenges in Network Automation.

This single-day workshop is being co-sponsored by IEEE Communications Society and IEEE Princeton Central Jersey Section and will provide a unique forum for folks from industry, academia and user community to be informed about the evolving landscape of Network Automation technologies, deployment use cases and business models.
