Limerick 2015 International Round Table Discussion on Technical and Professional Communication

The Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC) and the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing (ATTW) will co-host a round table discussion in the afternoon between the conclusion of the ProComm 2015 conference and the start of the ACM SIGDOC conference.  The focus of this discussion will be to examine the different trends that are affecting industry practices, academic research, and educational programs in technical and professional communication.  The purpose of this discussion will be to

  • Identify what trends are currently affecting academic, educational, and industry practices in the field
  • Discuss how these trends are affecting or could affect various practices in the field
  • Examine how current research addresses these trends and how future research might effectively explore these trends
  • Explore prospective partnerships designed to examine these trends in ways that can benefit academic researchers, college and university educators, and industry practitioners in the field.

Central to these discussions will be finding areas of mutual interest and identifying opportunities for collaboration/partnerships that can effectively guide research, teaching, and practice in technical and professional communication

When: Wednesday, 15 July 2015, 14:30-16:30 (2:30-4:30 pm)

Where: University of Limerick – Limerick, Ireland.  Kemmy Business School

Registration: Free and open to all (seating limited to 50 attendees)

(Note: This is not the Annual CPTSC Conference.  That conference will take place in Logan, UT on 1-3 October 2015.)
