Prof. Jose Jardini received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Polytechnic School at the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in 1963, 1970 and 1973, respectively. From 1964 to 1991 he worked at Themag Eng. Ltd in the area of Power Systems & Automation and Transmission Lines projects. Currently, he is a full Professor in the Electric Power and Automation Engineering Department at USP. He is a member of CIGRE and was the Brazilian representative in the SC38 of CIGRE, Fellow Member of IEEE and Distinguished Lecturer of PES/IEEE and IAS/IEEE. Among his areas of interest are Power Systems and Automation.

Prof. Jose Jardini delivered a distinguished lecture on the topic of “HVDC Vs. HVAC – Economic Evaluation” to IEEE Centro – Norte Brasil Section Chapter at Darcy Ribeiro Campus, University of Brasilia on April 25th, 2017.

The DLP was a 4-hour lecture inside a big event of IEEE Week at the university. The event was all transmitted live via Facebook tools and available in UnB Facebook. There were 20 people attended in person, with more than 350 people reached online.

Dr. Jardini’s presentation was excellent and all the attendees were highly impressed by the lecture. Following comments were received “We are very happy to have him here and we hope that it can happen again.” “We are very grateful!!! Thank you very much, it is being very helpful already to the improvement of the chapter, we already got more volunteers with the lectures to help to develop our PES projects.”
