-IEEE PES Region 10 – North 1 (Mainland China) organized a working group meeting to discuss the preparation of IEEE PES committee and journal on “Energy Internet”

IEEE PES Region 10- North 1 (Mainland China) organized a working group meeting at China EPRI on March 3^rd, 2017, discussing the preparation of IEEE PES technical committee and a journal on “Energy Internet”. Dr. Zhiqian Bo, the IEEE PES China representative, hosted the meeting. Experts from XUJI Group of SGCC, China EPRI, Institute of Electrical Engineering of China Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, North China Electric Power University, Northeastern University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Hunan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Beijing Jiaotong University attended the meeting. A preparatory group was established for the IEEE PES technical committee and journal on “Energy Internet”, respectively. Prof. Hongbin Sun of Tsinghua University was elected as the leader of the journal preparatory group, while Prof. Liangping Zeng of China EPRI and Director Fengquan Zhou of XUJI Group were elected as the leaders of the technical committee preparatory group. Dr. Xiaojun Wang and Dr. Yin Xu of Beijing Jiaotong University were elected as the secretary of the preparatory group for the committee and journal, respectively. Members of IEEE PES in China were encouraged to support and participate in the preparation of the committee and journal.

-IEEE PES Region 10 – North 1 (Mainland China) is preparing to establish Shanghai, Shandong, and Wuhan Chapters. The preparatory work has almost completed.

-IEEE PES Region 10 – North 1 (Mainland China) is seeking a collaboration with potential partners to setup award for young engineers and scholarship for students in China.

-IEEE PES Region 10 – North 1 (Mainland China) is working on creating a review mechanism to support the application of senior members and fellows.
