IEEE GPREC student branch and IEEE GPREC PES/IAS Chapter in association with PES Humanitarian Activities Committee (HAC), has conducted a technical talk on “Energy Conservation For Sustainable Development” by Sri Aravamudhan working as senior Manager-operation and Maintenance at Greenko Group, 816 MW Solar Power plant. Around one hundred delegates (both IEEE members and non-members) attended the event.

In the talk, the speaker focused on the theme “Energy Conservation For Sustainable Development” and how can we conserve energy with the help of Renewable Energy sources like solar power panels. Sri Aravamudhan has covered the generation of solar energy from solar power panels at different climatic conditions. Speaker discussed the procedure of Installing a Grid connected solar system. He also discussed the importance of switching down to Renewable Energy sources, current challenges, in India. Speaker also shared the real time monitoring with the help of SCADA.

After the talk there was an interactive session with audience clarifying the questions raised by participants. From the audience prospective, the talk was informative, and thought provoking. At the end of the day talk inspired the listeners to implement new technologies for energy conservation.
